To open View Settings, click the View option on the configuration page. The Cart & Order Settings accordion sits at the bottom of the View Settings panel.

These settings control how a personalized preview file will be generated for fulfillment.

1. Generate Preview

Enable the Generate Preview checkbox to automatically render a visual preview image when a customer customizes this view on your store.

Unchecking this box disables automatic preview generation. Checking it reveals the advanced preview and file export settings described below.

2. Preview Size

Controls the image dimensions and file size of the rendered preview.

  • Compressed — Generates a smaller, performance-optimized preview file, at roughly half the canvas dimensions. This keeps loading times fast in the customer’s cart and checkout drawer.
  • Same as View Background — Renders the preview image using the exact original dimensions of the configured background canvas.

 

System behavior note: If the Additional File option is enabled, the cart preview size automatically defaults to Compressed — even when Same as View Background is selected. This optimizes add-to-cart load speeds while reserving full resolution for the separate downloadable production file.

3. Additional File

Enable Additional File when you need high-resolution or print-ready files for commercial manufacturing and fulfillment.

Visibility — The additional file is hidden from the customer in the shopping cart. It is generated exclusively for merchants and can be viewed and downloaded from the Shopify order section.

Downloadable file type options:

  • Default — Inherits the primary file format configured in your global app settings under Preview files & formats.
  • PDF — Generates a standard PDF document file for standard printing or archiving.
  • PDF (Vector) — Generates a resolution-independent vector PDF file, ideal for large-format commercial printing without quality loss.
  • SVG — Generates a Scalable Vector Graphic file, providing maximum sharpness and flexibility for precision digital cutting, engraving, or high-end printing.

4. Additional Display Options

Custom Cart Label

Customizes the text label displayed alongside the generated view preview inside the customer’s shopping cart, cart drawer, and checkout order summaries.

  • Default label — If left empty, the app displays “Preview”.
  • Custom examples — Replace the default text with a specific name such as “Front Design”, “Back View”, “Customized Artwork”, or “Engraving Preview”

Hide Background in Order image

Controls how background layers are processed in order preview files for merchant fulfillment.

When enabled (checked) — Generates two preview files, one with the view background and one without the view background, so the merchant can use them for fulfillment.

When disabled (unchecked) — Generates only a single output image with the view background and customer selection.
